Mechanical Systems Applications

*Customer Assemblies featuring Paradigm Polymer parts

We fabricate precision plastic parts for a wide variety of mechanical system applications.

Often lighter than metal, plastic has myriad benefits in mechanical applications: chemical/moisture resistance, exceptional flexural and tensile strength, self-lubricating properties, and affordability, to name just a few.

Be it Automotive, Healthcare & Medical, Oil & Gas, Heavy Equipment, or Marine & Watercraft - we understand your company's unique needs and are well-suited to deliver precision plastic parts of unsurpassed quality with tight tolerances and tight deadlines

The most common parts we provide for mechanical applications are custom knobs, grips, spacers, pins, and bushings, all made in accordance with our customers' specifications. Be it an acetal pulley, Teflon spacer, or a polypropylene flight for wildlife control darts (increasing accuracy and humanity), we can build to suit your needs.  We are an ideal source for long, short, or highly custom production runs, and everything in between.

Materials For Mechanical Applications

The flexibility, electrical nonconductivity, and insulation properties of plastic offer significant advantages over other materials in mechanical applications. By adding fillers, reinforcement, and chemical additives, plastic’s properties can change to meet a variety of needs, such as stressed mechanical components, heat—and chemical-resistant parts, electrical parts, housings, applications requiring excellent light transmission, and more.

An important quality in structural mechanical applications is high tensile strength. Some of the most commonly used plastics possessing this attribute are Ultem (also known as PEI, or polyetherimide), which is great for high-temperature applications, PEEK (polyetheretherketone), a very good low-temperature plastic and Nylon, which exhibits high abrasion resistance.

We work with all these materials, and many more. To download our complete parts list, click the link under the list at right.

Sven, Surgical Tool Engineer

“Our assemblies are extremely complex with little margin for error. With previous suppliers, we were experiencing greater than a 40% reject rate. Since we contracted with Paradigm, our yield is now 100%”
